Journey through the West's national parks where armchair travelers can check in if only for a few minutes. Visit the great lodges, those monuments to the wilds of the West and the perserverance of the men and women who created them.

Calculator Magic - Joel McCarty
Your calculator is a tool. Beyond balancing your bank account and converting imperial and metric measurements, learn how to de-mystify trigonometry, develop time saving ideas to assist your building methods, and convert your calculator into a wizard of construction. You can download Hawkindale tables, and other tricks taught by expert industry professional and entertainer Joel McCarty, our brother and associate from the Timber Framers Guild.

Log Grading - Ed Burke, Ph.D.
The science of wood and log grading will be shared by a well known specialist in the field. Understand green vs. dry logs, the utilization of spiral grain and methods of visual stress grading with round house logs. This is a great opportunity to learn more about log selection and purchasing, not only for the company owner but for employees as well. As builders are increasingly being required by local building jurisdictions to grade logs, this is a very valuable seminar to attend.
